Got an open house or potluck party on your calendar? Here’s an easy appetizer to serve any size crowd– just three key ingredients: JADE Mekong Ginger Sauce, pork tenderloin, and small buns.
Marinate the pork tenderloin in JADE Mekong Ginger Sauce, then roast to burnish the surface into a glossy, mahogany glaze. The result is similar to Chinese barbecued pork found in Chinese delicatessens and restaurants. Tuck the gingery pork slices into small rolls to make mini sandwiches. Or just present the elements and let your guests assemble their own sandwiches.
JADE Ginger Pork Sliders
You can also serve the glazed pork by itself. Try it with noodles, in stir-fries, and in salads. Marinate and roast several tenderloins to increase number of servings.
Makes 9 to 12 sandwiches
1 pork tenderloin (1 to 1 1/2 lb.)
About 1 cup JADE Mekong Ginger Sauce
About 1 dozen slider buns or small dinner rolls, split in half
Cilantro sprigs, thinly sliced green onions, or baby salad greens (optional)
1. Trim the silver skin off pork, if present. Place pork and 1/2 cup JADE Mekong Ginger Sauce in 1 gallon ziplock bag; seal bag and coat pork with sauce. Chill at least 1 hour or up to the next day, turning bag occasionally.
2. Preheat oven to 425° F. Lift pork from sauce (discard remaining sauce in bag). Set pork on a rack in a foil-lined shallow baking pan. Bake pork in a 425° F oven for 20 minutes. Baste with 1/4 cup ginger sauce and continue roasting, basting occasionally, until a thermometer inserted in center of thickest part reads 155° F, 20 to 30 minutes longer. Let rest at least 5 minutes. Serve meat hot or cool.
3. Thinly slice pork across the grain. Tuck pork slices into buns. Add JADE Mekong Ginger Sauce and cilantro to taste.
